COURSE: Straight to the Point - Steel Design using the Blue Book
2 Parts: 10 & 12 Jun, 10am-12pm
Where: On-line Course
This four hour course contains minimum theory and maximum hands-on member design – focusing on straight to the point practical design using the Eurocode Blue Book. The course is aimed at designers of orthodox structures where the resistance tables are the preferred way of selecting members.
The course content is based on Eurocode design and includes the design of beams and columns in simple (braced) construction, and comprises a series of practical numerical examples. The calculation of ultimate loads in accordance with the Eurocodes will be covered, so delegates will be confident in member design to the latest Standards.
Every delegate will receive a PDF copy of the SCI Publications "Steel building design: Design data 'Eurocode Blue Book' (P363)" and "Steel building design: Concise Eurocodes (P362)"
This course has been prepared for designers who want to be able to select beams and columns without undertaking lengthy calculations. No prior knowledge of Eurocode design is required, though delegates should understand the concept of limit state design. Construction is assumed to be based on simply supported beams and columns with axial loads, typical of small steelwork projects.
